الحمد لله رب العالمين والصلاة والسلام على نبينا محمد خاتم الأنبياء وسيد المرسلين وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين وبعد
فإن شهر الله المحرّم شهر عظيم مبارك وهو أول شهور السنّة الهجرية وأحد الأشهر الحُرُم التي قال الله فيها

"إِنَّ عِدَّةَ الشُّهُورِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ ذَلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ فَلَا تَظْلِمُوا فِيهِنَّ أَنْفُسَكُمْ ".. الآية 36- سورة التوبة.

وعَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : .. السَّنَةُ اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ ثَلَاثَةٌ مُتَوَالِيَاتٌ ذُو الْقَعْدَةِ وَذُو الْحِجَّةِ وَالْمُحَرَّمُ ، وَرَجَبُ مُضَرَ الَّذِي بَيْنَ جُمَادَى وَشَعْبَانَ ." رواه البخاري 2958 .

والمحرم سمي بذلك لكونه شهرا محرما وتأكيدا لتحريمه
وقوله تعالى "فَلَا تَظْلِمُوا فِيهِنَّ أَنْفُسَكُمْ " أي في هذه الأشهر المحرمة لأنها آكد وأبلغ في الإثم من غيرها .
وعن ابن عباس في قوله تعالى "فَلَا تَظْلِمُوا فِيهِنَّ أَنْفُسَكُمْ " في كلهن ثم اختص من ذلك أربعة أشهر فجعلهن حرامًا وعظّم حرماتهن وجعل الذنب فيهن أعظم والعمل الصالح والأجر أعظم ، وقال قتادة في قوله "فَلَا تَظْلِمُوا فِيهِنَّ أَنْفُسَكُمْ "إن الظّلم في الأشهر الحرم أعظم خطيئة ووزرًا من الظلم فيما سواها. وإن كان الظلم على كل حال عظيما ولكن الله يعظّم من أمره ما يشاء ، وقال : إن الله اصطفى صفايا من خلقه : اصطفى من الملائكة رسلًا ومن الناس رسلا واصطفى من الكلام ذكره واصطفى من الأرض المساجد واصطفى من الشهور رمضان والأشهر الحرم واصطفى من الأيام يوم الجمعة واصطفى من الليالي ليلة القدر فعظموا ما عظّم الله . فإنما تُعَظّم الأمور بما عظمها الله به عند أهل الفهم وأهل العقل . فضل الإكثار من صيام النافلة في شهر محرّم
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَفْضَلُ الصِّيَامِ بَعْدَ رَمَضَانَ شَهْرُ اللَّهِ الْمُحَرَّمُ . " رواه مسلم 1982.
قوله " شهر الله " إضافة الشّهر إلى الله إضافة تعظيم ، قال القاري : الظاهر أن المراد جميع شهر المحرّم .
ولكن قد ثبت أنّ النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لم يصم شهرًا كاملا قطّ غير رمضان فيُحمل هذا الحديث على الترغيب في الإكثار من الصّيام في شهر محرم لا صومه كله .
وقد ثبت إكثار النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من الصوم في شعبان ، ولعله لم يوحَ إليه بفضل المحرّم إلا في آخر الحياة قبل التمكّن من صومه .. شرح النووي رحمه الله على صحيح مسلم .
الله يصطفي ما يشاء من الزمان والمكان
قَالَ الْعِزُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ رحمه الله : وَتَفْضِيلُ الأَمَاكِنِ وَالأَزْمَانِ ضَرْبَانِ : أَحَدُهُمَا : دُنْيَوِيٌّ .. وَالضَّرْبُ الثَّانِي : تَفْضِيلٌ دِينِيٌّ رَاجِعٌ إلَى أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَجُودُ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ فِيهَا بِتَفْضِيلِ أَجْرِ الْعَامِلِينَ , كَتَفْضِيلِ صَوْمِ رَمَضَانَ عَلَى صَوْمِ سَائِرِ الشُّهُورِ , وَكَذَلِكَ يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ .. فَفَضْلُهَا رَاجِعٌ إلَى جُودِ اللَّهِ وَإِحْسَانِهِ إلَى عِبَادِهِ فِيهَا .. قواعد الأحكام 1/38.

The virtue of fasting ‘Ashoora

Praise be to Allah.
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and Leader of the Messengers, and upon all his family and companions. To proceed:
The month of Allah Muharram is a great and blessed month. It is the first month of the Hijri year and is one of the sacred months concerning which Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, the number of months with Allah is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are Sacred, (i.e. the 1st, the 7th, the 11th and the 12th months of the Islamic calendar). That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein”
[Soorat at-Tawbah 9:36].
It was narrated from Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): “… The year is twelve months, of which four are sacred: three consecutive months, Dhu al-Qa‘dah, Dhu al-Hijjah and Muharram, and Rajab of Mudar which comes between Jumaada and Sha‘baan.”
Narrated by al-Bukhaari (2958).
Muharram is so called because it is a sacred (muharram) month; this further emphasizes its sanctity.
The words of Allah (interpretation of the meaning): “so wrong not yourselves therein” [Soorat at-Tawbah 9:36] mean: (do not wrong yourselves) in these sacred months, because doing so is a greater sin than at other times.
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas said, concerning the words of Allah “so wrong not yourselves therein” [Soorat at-Tawbah 9:36]: (The command not to wrong yourself) applies in all months, then Allah singled out four months and made them sacred, and emphasised their sanctity, and He made sin during these months more grave, and He made righteous deeds and the reward thereof greater. Qataadah said, concerning the words “so wrong not yourselves therein”: Wrongdoing during the sacred months is more serious and incurs a greater burden of sin than in other months. Wrongdoing is a serious matter in any circumstances, but Allah makes whatever He wills of His commands carry more weight. And he said: Allah has chosen elites from His creation: from among the angels He chose Messengers, from among mankind He chose Messengers, from among speech He chose remembrance of Him (dhikr), from among spaces on earth He chose the mosques, from among the months He chose Ramadan and the sacred months, from among days He chose Friday (Jumu‘ah), and from among nights He chose Laylat al-Qadr. So venerate that which has been chosen by Allah, for people of understanding and wisdom respect that which has been chosen by Allah.

The virtue of observing a great deal of naafil (supererogatory) fasts during the month of Muharram
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The best fast after Ramadan is in the month of Allah Muharram.”
Narrated by Muslim (1982).
The phrase “the month of Allah (shahr Allah)” is indicative of the veneration this month deserves, as it is attributed to Allah (in a genitive or idaafah phrase). Al-Qaari said: What appears to be the case is that what is meant is the entire month of Muharram.
But it is proven that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) never fasted any month in full apart from Ramadan. So this hadeeth is to be understood as meaning that it is encouraged to fast a great deal during the month of Muharram, not to fast the entire month.
It is proven that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) fasted a great deal during Sha‘baan, and perhaps the virtue of Muharram was not revealed to him until the end of his life, before he was able to fast during this month.

Allah chooses whatever He wills of times and places
Al-‘Izz ibn ‘Abd as-Salaam (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Superiority of times and places is of two types, the first of which is in worldly terms and the second is in religious or spiritual terms because of what Allah bestows upon His slaves at those times and in those places of a greater reward for deeds, such as the greater virtue of fasting Ramadan over fasting in other months or on the day of ‘Ashoora’. Its virtue is due to Allah’s generosity and kindness to His slaves during it.

Certes, le mois de Muharram est un mois important et béni. C'est le premier mois de l'année hégirienne et l'un des mois sacrés à propos desquels Allah dit:« Le nombre de mois, auprès d'Allah, est de douze (mois), dans la prescription d'Allah, le jour où Il créa les cieux et la terre. Quatre d'entre eux sont sacrés: telle est la religion droite. (Durant ces mois), ne faites pas de tort à vous-mêmes.» (Coran,9:36).
Abou Bakra a rapporté que le Prophète (Bénédiction et salut soient sur lui) a dit:«L'année compte douze mois dont quatre sont sacrés. Les trois qui se succèdent sont: Dhoul qaada, Dhoul hidjdja et Muharram, le quatrième étant le Radjab des Moudhar, un mois situé entre Djoumda et Chaabaan.» (Rapporté par al-Bokhari,2958).Muharram est appelé ainsi parce qu'il est un mois fortement sacré. La parole du Très-haut:« ne faites pas de tort à vous-mêmes.» C'est à dire durant ces mois, une manière de mettre en relief leur caractère sacré et indiquer que le péché qui y est commis est plus grave que tout autre.
D'après Ibn Abbas, « ne faites pas de tort à vous-mêmes» durant tous ces mois vise à spécifier les quatre mois rendus intensément sacrés au point que le péché qui y est commis est plus grave et la bonne œuvre bien mieux récompensée. Quatada a dit: «Ne faites pas de tort à vous-mêmes durant ces mois» signifie que l'injustice commise dans ces mois constitue une faute plus lourde que celle commise en d'autres mois. Pourtant, l'injustice reste grave dans tous les cas. Allah aggrave ce qu'Il veut. »
Quatada poursuit: «Certes, Allah s'est fait des élus parmi Ses créatures; Il a choisi des messagers parmi les anges et les hommes. Des discours , Il a préféré Sa remémoration, de la terre, Il préfère les mosquées, des mois il préfère le Ramadan et les mois sacrés, des jours, Il préfère le vendredi et des nuits , Il préfère la Nuit du Destin. Vénérez donc ce qu'Allah a rendu vénérable. Selon les gens raisonnables et capables de bien comprendre les choses , c'est Allah seul qui confère aux choses leur caractère vénérable.» Extrait succinct du Tafsir d'Ibn Kathir (Puisse Allah lui accorder Sa miséricorde), explication de la sourate du repentir , verset 36.
Les avantage de la fréquence du jeun pendant le mois de Muharram.
D'après Abou Hourayrah (P.A.a), le Messager d'Allah (Bénédiction et salut soient sur lui) a dit: «le meilleur jeûne à observer après celui du mois de Ramadan est le jeûne fait au cours du mois d'Allah, Muharram.» (Rapporté par Mouslim,1982). L'expression mois d'Allah dans laquelle le mois est annexée à Allah implique sa vénération. Selon al-Qari, il semble qu'il s'agit de jeûner tout le mois de Muharram. Toutefois, il a été rapporté que le Prophète (Bénédiction et salut soient sur lui) n'avait jamais jeûné un mois entier en dehors du Ramadan. Ceci a permis d'interpréter le hadith exhortant à jeûner le mois comme une incitation à y pratiquer le jeûne fréquemment sans le jeûner intégralement. Il est encore rapporté de façon sûre que le Prophète (Bénédiction et salut soient sur lui) jeûnait fréquemment pendant le mois de Chaabaan. Mais on lui révéla le mérite de Muharram que vers la fin de sa vie et avant qu'il ne pût le jeûner.» Commentaire de Mouslim sur an-Nawawi (Puisse Allah lui accorder sa miséricorde). Allah choisit ce qu'Il veut en matière de temps et d'espace.
Al-Izz ibn Abdou Salam (Puisse Allah lui accorder sa miséricorde) dit:« La préférence portant sur l'espace et le temps est de deux sortes. L'une est profane et l'autre religieuse car elle réside dans le fait qu'Allah y accorde à Ses fidèles serviteurs une récompense plus importante. C'est le sens de la préférence du jeûne du Ramadan comparé au jeûne des autres mois. C'est encore le cas du jeûne d'Achoura. Le mérite de cette sorte de jeûne résulte de la générosité et de la bienfaisance divines envers les fidèles serviteurs.» Qawaid al-ahkaam (1/38).
