الحمد لله
زكاة الفطر واجبة على الذكر والأنثى والصغير والكبير من المسلمين ، كما بين النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم .
ولا تجب إلا على الحي الذي أدرك وقت وجوبها .
ووقت وجوب زكاة الفطر غروب الشمس من آخر يوم من رمضان .
لأن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم سماها صدقة الفطر ، والفطر من رمضان يتحقق بغروب الشمس ليلة العيد ، ولأنها جعلت طهرة للصائم من اللغو والرفث ، والصوم ينقضي بغروب الشمس .
فمن مات قبل أن يدرك وقت الوجوب فلا زكاة عليه . ومن أدرك وقت الوجوب ثم مات قبل أن يخرجها أُخرجت عنه من ماله لأنها استقرت في ذمته وصارت دَيْنًا عليه .

وقال الشيخ ابن عثيمين رحمه الله :
" ولو مات الإنسان قبل غروب الشمس ليلة العيد ، لم تجب فطرته أيضا ؛ لأنه مات قبل وجود سبب الوجوب " انتهى .
"فقه العبادات" ص 211 .
والحاصل : أن الميت المسئول عنه إن كان قد مات بعد أن أدرك وقت الوجوب ، وهو غروب شمس ليلة الفطر ، وجب إخراج الزكاة عنه .
وإن كان مات قبل إدراك وقت الوجوب - وهو الظاهر من السؤال – فلا زكاة عليه .
وإذا أخرجت عنه جدتك صدقة من طعام أو نقود أو غير ذلك فهي صدقة عنه وليست زكاة فطر .
وقد ثبت في أكثر من حديث عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أن الصدقة عن الميت تنفعه ، ويصله ثوابها .

Paying zakaat al-fitr on behalf of the dead

Praise be to Allaah. Zakaat al-fitr is obligatory for all Muslims, males and females, old and young, as stated by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
It is only required from the living who are present at the time when it becomes due.
The time when zakaat al-fitr becomes due is when the sun sets on the last day of Ramadaan, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) called it sadaqat al-fitr, and fitr or breaking the fast of Ramadaan comes when the sun sets on the night of Eid (i.e., the night before Eid). It is a purification for the fasting person from any idle or obscene speech, and the fast ends when the sun sets.
If a person dies before the time it become obligatory, he does not have to pay this zakaah. If a person lives until the time when it becomes obligatory, then dies before paying it, then it should be paid on his behalf from his wealth because it is still a duty that he owes and becomes a debt that must be paid on his behalf.

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
If a person dies before the sun sets on the night before Eid, he does not have to pay zakaat al-fitr, because he died before it became obligatory. End quote.
Fiqh al-‘Ibaadaat, p. 211
In conclusion: The deceased person is responsible for this if he died after the time when it became obligatory, which is sunset on the night before Eid. In that case it must be paid on his behalf.
If he died before the time when it became obligatory – which appears to be the case in the question asked here – then this zakaah is not obligatory.
If your grandmother gave charity such as food, money, etc on his behalf, then it is charity given on his behalf and is not zakaat al-fitr.
It is proven in more than one hadeeth from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) that charity given on behalf of the dead benefits them and the reward reaches them.

La petite zakat est prescrite à tout musulman: mâle, femelle, petit ou grand d'après l'explication donnée par le Prophète (Bénédiction et salut soient sur lui). Son acquittement n'incombe qu'à une personne en vie à l'avènement du moment de son acquittement. C'est -à-dire à partir du coucher du soleil de l'ultime journée du Ramadan. Le Prophète (Bénédiction et salut soient sur lui) l'a appelée zakat al-fitr (aumône de fin de jeûne). Or la fin du jeûne n'est constatée qu'au coucher du soleil marquant l'entrée de la nuit de la Fête. La zakat vise à purifier le jeûneur des effets des actes et propos indécents. Le jeûne prend fin avec le coucher du soleil.
Celui qui meurt avant le temps de prescription de la zakat n' a pas à l'acquitter. Si quelqu'un meurt après l'avènement de ce moment, on la prélève des biens qu'il a laissés, puisqu'il était tenu de l'acquitter au même titre que ses dettes. Voir al-Madjmou' (6/84); al-Moughni (2/358); al-Mawsou'a la-fiqhiyya (32/341).
Cheikh Ibn Outhaymine (Puisse Allah lui accorder Sa miséricorde) a dit: «Si quelqu'un mourrait peu avant le coucher du soleil marquant le début de la veille de la Fête, il n'aurait pas à acquitter la zakat parce qu'il aurait cessé d'exister avant la naissance de la cause de l'obligation.» Fiqh al-Ibadaat,p.211.
En somme, si le mort en question est décédé après l'avènement du temps de prescription, à savoir le coucher du soleil de la veille du jour de Fête, on doit acquitter la zakat pour lui. S'il est décédé avant ce temps- ce qui est apparemment le cas ici- la zakat ne le concerne pas. Si votre grand-mère fait pour lui une aumône en nourriture ou en argent ou en d'autres biens, ce serait une simple aumône et non une petite zakat. Bon nombre de hadiths authentiques rapportés du Prophète (Bénédiction et salut soient sur lui) indiquent que l'aumône fait pour un défunt lui profite puisque sa récompense lui parvient.
